Robbery Unit investigatng Beechwood Bank Robberies

The Ottawa Police Service is investigating two related bank robberies.
On February 13, 2012, at approximately 10:15 am, a lone male suspect entered a bank situated in the 0-100 block of Beechwood Avenue. The suspect made a verbal demand for money and left the bank with an undisclosed quantity of cash. No weapon was seen and there were no injuries.
On Friday March 23, 2012, at 10:40 am, the same suspect entered the same bank. The suspect made a verbal demand for cash and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was described as being a Caucasian male, skinny build, 5'6" (1.68 m), white-red-grey windbreaker, old blue jeans, dark grey shoes, wore a black scarf, aviator style sunglasses, and black gloves. In the previous robbery he carried a blue and grey Roots backpack. (see attached images)


The suspect may have been carrying a higher than usual amount of cash in the days following the March 23rd robbery.
