• What are RSS feeds?

  Really Simple Syndication, or RSS, allows you to subscribe to a Web site’s content. Ottawa Police Service provides feeds in RSS for a variety of topics so that you can stay up to date with our news, announcements and activities.

• How do I subscribe to feeds?

  To subscribe to our RSS feeds and read news, you need a RSS reader. There are many free RSS readers available. Some common options are:

  • MS Outlook 
  • Google Reader 
  • My Yahoo!
  • Bloglines
  • NewsGator

  With your free RSS reader account, select a feed from our list above or click the RSS feed icon, and/or follow the instructions from your RSS reader to subscribe.

   

  You can also receive an email digest of OPS news, which is based on our RSS feed.

• What's an email Digest?

  An email digest is an option for you to receive an email update of your selected OPS news. This email is delivered only once a day with an option to select the time you would like to receive your daily digest.

• What if I still want to receive up-to-date emails about OPS?

  The Ottawa Police website is based on RSS Feeds. Most email services like Gmail, MS Outlook, or Yahoo have RSS Readers which you can use to subscribe to Ottawa Police news. For more details, visit your email service provider's webpage to learn how to use their RSS Reader.
