How do I pay my fines?

Parking Tickets

Parking tickets should be paid within 15 days of their issue date. The due date may be included on the ticket. There are various methods of payment:

Online with the City of Ottawa

By mail: City of Ottawa

In person at any one of the locations listed on the back of your parking ticket.

By telephone: (613) 738-7719, 24 hours a day, seven days a week
Only VISA and Mastercard are accepted. A service charge applies.

Photo of roadway and traffic If you disagree with the parking ticket, you may take the matter up with the City of Ottawa. You will find appeal instructions on your ticket.

Provincial Offence Notices (Traffic Tickets)

As of March 2001, the City of Ottawa established its own administration and prosecution office and courtrooms to deal with charges laid under the Provincial Offences Act.

Within 15 days, you may choose any of the following options to pay your ticket.

In some cases, the driver has demerit points deducted from their Driver's Licence. View a list of short descriptions of offences and the number of demerit points associated with the description. This list is reflected in the Highway Traffic Act Demerit Point System.
