Sexual Assault & Child Abuse
The Ottawa Sexual Assault Protocol
Ontario’s Sexual Violence Action Plan
The Sexual Assault & Child Abuse Section principally serves the community by:
- investigating sexual assaults and incidents of child abuse and neglect;
- in partnership with other Ottawa Police units such as the Victim Crisis Unit, providing counseling, assessment and referral services to people and/or youth who are victims of sexual assault or abuse;
- collaborating with other social service agencies to provide education and awareness programs on matters pertaining to sexual assault, child abuse and related issues.
In this section of our Web site, you will find valuable information related to a recent project we completed in partnership with the Ontario Provincial Government, which addressed the troubling issue of Drug Facilitated Sexual Assault (DFSA). Check back on this page from time to time for other information related to sexual assault and child abuse matters.
