(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who physically and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy on September 20 in Manor Park.

Bear sighting in Kanata

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service is monitoring the Kanata area of the old quarry trail in response to a bear sighting.
Use of the trail is being restricted at the moment and residents are asked to be cautious if a bear is encountered.
Residents are reminded to report bear sightings to Ottawa Police Service at 613-236-1222 or for imminent danger, call 911.

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service is investigating after an elderly woman was found injured earlier this week.
On September 18, at about 11 am, emergency services and police were called to a residence in the 200 block of Viewmount Drive.
A 70-year-old woman was found by family with severe injuries.
The victim was taken to hospital and is now in stable condition.
Investigators are trying to determine how she sustained the injuries.

Manslaughter charge laid in death of elderly woman

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Homicide Unit has charged Ian ROONEY, 57, with manslaughter after the death of Yu Kun Xie, 78.
On September 16, at about 2 a.m., police were called to an address in the 800 block of Gladstone Avenue for reports of an injured woman later identified as Xie.
Xie passed away on September 17.
Homicide Unit investigators laid the manslaughter charge today in court.
