(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service is warning parents, children, and young people about the dangers of texting explicit images on social media platforms and the risk of falling victim to sextortion.
Acting Sergeant Erin McMullan from the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section says they receive complaints each week, with victims ranging in age from eleven to their early twenties.

Multiple suspects to identify in a robbery incident

(Ottawa)— The Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s help in an investigation into a robbery stemming from the Market during the early hours of June 25.
At approximately 3:30 am, a male victim left the 300 block of Dalhousie Street in a vehicle with several males, unknown to him.
The victim was driven to the area of Anderson and Renaud Roads, where he was assaulted and robbed, and left on the side of the road. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

(Ottawa)— One person is in custody after an incident on Parliament Hill where a vehicle rammed the front gates on Wellington Street early this morning.
At approximately 3:30 am, an unauthorized vehicle drove into the front gates but was prevented from entering the area due to security infrastructure. The damage to the gates was minimal.
