Patrol officers foil auto thefts in the Stittsville area

(Ottawa) — In the past week, Frontline patrol officers in West Division have twice foiled thieves attempting to steal luxury vehicles from residences in Stittsville.
On March 30th 2022 at approximately 2 am, a witness called police because they thought someone was trying to steal their neighbour’s Lexus SUV from their driveway. Officers responded and located the vehicle on Highway 417. The vehicle was safely stopped and the driver arrested.

Suspects to identify in Kanata Avenue Mischief

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police East Criminal Investigation Unit is looking for the public’s assistance to identify two men involved in Mischief in the 800 block of Kanata Ave on March 25th, 2022.
At approximately 6:15pm, two suspects entered a theatre and damaged a movie screen before leaving undetected. Damages are estimated at over $12,000. This is the second incident of this type reported to our Service in the last month.

Police see a 25% increase in impaired related charges in March

(Ottawa) — Since January 2022, the Ottawa Police Service is seeing impaired driving charges returning to pre-pandemic numbers.
A total of 146 impairment-related charges have been laid between January 1st, to March 30th, 2022. In March alone, there were 54 charges laid, as opposed to 43 in March 2021.
