Rideau Street shooting investigation: police seeking witnesses

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, December 22, 2021          1:20pm

(Ottawa) – The Guns and Gangs Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred at a residence located in the 200 block of Rideau Street on December 22nd, 2021.

At approximately 7:40am, Frontline patrol officers responded to the area after a 911 call and located an adult male with a gunshot wound.  He was transported to a local hospital by Ottawa Paramedic Service with serious injuries. He is now in stable condition.

Investigations into recent School threats: another student identified

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, December 22, 2021   11:00am 

(Ottawa)—Yesterday, the Ottawa Police Service charged a 17 year old student with Mischief and Uttering threats after a thorough investigation into threats made by the student towards his high school in the East end.

We ask Ottawa residents, parents and guardians, teachers and students to report suspicious activity/threats to a local school, including those seen in social media posts, by calling 613-236-1222.
