Witness to identify -- animal cruelty incident in Riverside South

(Ottawa) —The East Criminal Investigations Section is seeking to identify a witness to an animal cruelty incident, as part of an ongoing animal abuse investigation.
In the evening of Sunday, May 23rd, a young man (early 20s) witnessed and intervened when an older man was seen engaging in animal abuse acts outside a home near Summerhill Park.
Police would like to speak with the witness who may have further information about the incident.

(Ottawa) — There will be an increased police presence in the ByWard Market and Downtown Rideau areas starting this evening - as well as at beaches and parks.

(Ottawa) — The West Criminal Investigations Section is looking for the public’s assistance to identify an individual involved in an unprovoked assault on two women with a knife this afternoon.
At approximately 12:20pm, a Frontline patrol officer responded to a call in the 800 block of Richmond Road about an attack at 12noon. The responding officer located two victims. One woman was unharmed and a second woman suffered non serious injuries.
