(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service invites you to join us at the 6th Annual Polar Plunge for Special Olympics taking place at Algonquin College (north side of ‘P’ Building) on Saturday, March 7, in partnership with the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run (OLETR).
The Polar Plunge takes place in several cities across Canada and raises much-needed funds for the athletes and families of Special Olympics Ontario.

Man charged with Sexual Assault

(Ottawa) – Today, the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit (SACA) charged a man in relation to two separate incidents that occurred in November 2019 and February 2020.
Sergio NESBIT, 37 years old of Ottawa, was charged with one count each, of:
- Sexual Assault,
- Aggravated Sexual Assault and
- Forcible confinement
He is scheduled to appear in court.
Investigators believe there could be other victims.

Marine Dive Trail officers conducted RIDE programs again this weekend

(Ottawa) – Marine Dive Trail (MDT) officers were out on the trails again this weekend, focusing on impaired drivers.
At a RIDE checkpoint on the trailhead at South-North Gower/Richmond, a total of 29 vehicles were stopped on Friday night. While there were no charges laid, police encountered two snowmobile operators who tried to evade police by avoiding the checkpoint.

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section has charged a man with sexual assault in relation to an incident that occurred in 2006.
In April 2006, a teenage girl was walking alone in the area of Dakota Avenue and Carnegie Street when she was sexually assaulted by a man she did not know.
Recently, DNA sample led to the identification of a suspect.
