Arson Unit seeking witnesses to Hazeldean Road commercial fire

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Arson Unit is investigating an arson that occurred in a commercial building in the 400 block of Hazeldean Road early this morning.
At approximately 3:45 am, officers attended a commercial fire in the 400 block of Hazeldean Road, this was a tiered response with Ottawa Fire Services.
The incident has displaced many businesses, and the damage caused by the fire is estimated in the millions of dollars.

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Central Criminal Investigation Section is seeking public assistance to identify a suspect responsible for an assault on September 7th on Dalhousie Street near St. Patrick Street.
At approximately 5:30 pm, two female victims were walking down the street when the suspect intentionally bumped into them. The suspect then began assaulting the females, eventually knocking one of them to the ground.

(Ottawa) – The Homicide Unit has charged an adult male with second degree murder and failing to provide the necessaries of life in the tragic death of a four-month-old infant girl that occurred on May 6th, 2023, at a residence on Genest Street in the Vanier area of the city.
The charges arise out of a sixteen-month investigation by the Homicide Unit into the death of one of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Man charged in George Street homicide: Victim identified

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate the death of a man that occurred on George Street last evening.
The victim is identified as Stephen Pedicelli, 45-years-old, of Montreal.
The Homicide Unit has charged Jean Paul THERAGENE, 31-years-old, of Ottawa, with second-degree murder. He appeared in court today.

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a commercial robbery in the 1900 block of Baseline Road on July 18th.
At approximately 11:00 am, the lone male suspect entered the store selected a product and walked out of the store. Staff approached the suspect, which is when he attempted to assault them. He then fled the area in a vehicle.
