Officers arrest robbery suspect; firearm recovered

Ottawa – The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has charged a man following a commercial robbery on June 15 in the 500 block of Montreal Road.
At approximately 2:00pm, a lone suspect entered the store and stole several items. When approached by a staff member, he pulled out a firearm.
The suspect left the store on foot. No one was injured.

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Fatal Collision Investigation Unit is seeking witnesses to a collision this morning.
At approximately 7:40 am, officers were called to the intersection of Gladstone Ave and Rochester St. in response to a collision involving a commercial vehicle and a cyclist.
The cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

(Ottawa)— One man has been charged after a patrol officer was randomly assaulted early Thursday morning in the Montreal Rd. area.
The officer was parked in the area of Montreal Rd. and Lafontaine Ave. at approximately 12:45 am when a man jumped into the officer’s cruiser through the passenger window. The officer was able to exit the cruiser, but a struggle ensued into the street.

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section (SACA) is investigating reports of a suspicious person in Barrhaven.
There have been multiple reported incidents between June 8 and June 14.
