Update: Death Investigation on Mayview Ave

(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service continues to investigate the death of a 24-year-old man found deceased in a Mayview Ave. home.
The death was initially investigated as a homicide but police now believe the incident is attributed to death by misadventure. The investigation indicates that the manner of death was likely accidentally self-inflicted.
No suspect is being sought.
The investigation remains open and active.

First degree murder charge laid in Gilmour Street Homicide

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Homicide Unit arrested a 15-year-old male yesterday in relation to the shooting death of Manyok Akol on January 8th.
The 15-year-old was held for a Show Cause Hearing this morning and formally charged with 1 count of First Degree Murder and 3 counts of Attempted Murder this morning. Per the YCJA, he will not be identified as he is a minor.

Our Emergency Services Unit (ESU) was recognized by @OPSChiefSloly for its commitment to the investigation into the disappearance and homicide of Ms. Susan Kuplu. Investigators determined that her body was placed in a commercial waste container that eventually ended up at a local landfill.
