Panda Game: Zero tolerance for public disorder

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service is working with Ottawa By-law and Regulatory Services, and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario will have a significant and sustained presence in the ByWard Market, Sandy Hill and Old Ottawa South areas for Panda Game festivities.
Officers will focus on Criminal Code, Liquor Licence and Control Act offences, and other general conduct issues. Public safety will be the number one priority.

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service is issuing a reminder that the municipal election process should be fully respected and that criminal harassment of candidates, election sign damage and hate-based crimes will not be tolerated.
During most elections, these types of reports and complaints are often made to police. To date, we have received 14 reports of mischief or theft of election signs.

Man Charged with Second Degree Murder

(Ottawa) — An 18-year-old man has been charged by the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit in connection with a stabbing death at the St. Laurent Shopping Centre Friday afternoon.
Mohamed Osman, 18, has been charged with 2nd degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of breaching release conditions. He was taken into custody by police overnight.

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit has charged a 33 year old man with second degree Murder in relation to the death of a 23 year old woman.
On Sunday, September 11 at 10:22 a.m., police were called to an address located in the 1 to 100 block of Woodvale Drive.
Once on scene, police discovered a woman deceased. They took one man into custody.

Man charged with sexual assault involving two separate incidents

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section charged an Ottawa man following two investigations into allegations of sexual assault.
The first incident happened in November 2021 and involved a student at the high school where the accused taught in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. It was immediately reported to police and an investigation was started.
