(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Collision Unit Investigators are seeking witnesses to a serious collision that occurred on July 7th, 2022.
At approximately 3:00 pm, Frontline patrol officers responded to the collision involving a truck and a motorcycle at the intersection of Tenth Line and Wall Road. The motorcycle driver sustained serious injuries. He was treated and transported to a local hospital by Ottawa paramedics.

Semi Annual Hate Crimes data showing a 6% increase in reporting to police

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Hate and Bias Crime Unit released its Semi Annual statistics showing an increase of approximately 6% in hate crime reports in 2022 – from 122 cases to 129 compared to the same time last year.
The Service received 164 hate crimes reports, of which 129 were deemed to be criminal in nature.
In 2022, 21 individuals have been charged with 74 counts of various hate/bias motivated criminal offences.

Ottawa – The Ottawa Overdose Prevention and Response Task Force (Task Force) is warning residents about an increase in suspected overdose-related deaths in Ottawa. This past week, Ottawa Police patrol officers and Ottawa Paramedics responded to at least 22 calls for service about suspected overdoses, including five suspected overdose-related deaths.

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Collision Unit Investigators are seeking witnesses to a fatal collision that occurred on Monday, July 4th, 2022.
At approximately 9:23 am, Frontline patrol officers responded to the collision involving a City of Ottawa contracted waste collection vehicle and a pedestrian in the 2400 block of Joliffe Street.
The 70 year old pedestrian later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
