Ottawa man charged following an incident on Central Park Drive

(Ottawa) – Ottawa Police have arrested and charged a 24 year-old man after an incident Wednesday evening.

On Wednesday, August 7th, 2024, at approximately 9:25 pm, officers responded to a call at Central Park Drive after a woman was approached and grabbed by an unknown man wearing a shirt over his head outside of her apartment building.

While the man was attempting to pull the woman away, witnesses came to her assistance and called police.

(Ottawa)— On Saturday, August 3, 2024 at approximately 8:35pm, the Ottawa Police Service were called to assist our city partners from Ottawa Fire Services with a suspicious and hazardous situation. Ottawa Police were advised some patrons were having difficulty breathing.

Officers on scene were able to establish that an irritant was dispersed  inside the building.

Rideau Street was closed for a short period of time. The investigation is ongoing...

Fatal collision on Albion Rd: police seeking witnesses

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service is seeking witnesses to a fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred last night.

At approximately 11:50 p.m., police were called to Albion Road South between Rideau Road and Tullamore Street in response to a collision involving a driver having struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Residents Matter Enforcement Initiative Results: July 26

(Ottawa) – On the evening of Friday July 26th, members of the Traffic Escort & Enforcement and Frontline patrol officers along with OPP were in the Barrhaven and Kanata areas as part of the Residents Matter (#ResidentsMatter) late-night traffic enforcement initiative.

Two drivers were charged with stunt driving:
• 133 km/h in a 70 km/h zone – Strandherd Drive / Dealership Drive
• 120 km/h in a 70 km/h zone – Strandherd Drive / Aura Avenue
