Officer in the right place at the right time saves man’s life

Cst. Chris Powers, a 3-year veteran of the Ottawa Police Service, was stopped in a line of traffic at the intersection of Montreal Road and the Aviation Parkway on October 25th at about 2:40 p.m. when another motorist flagged him about a male possibly asleep in his vehicle in a live lane of traffic.

It’s National Teen Driver Safety Week October 20 – 26 and a lot of new drivers fall into this age group.

Rookie officer who grew up in social housing says 'the sky is the limit'

Constable Kevin Dorion grew up in social housing in the South end.

“As a kid, I heard all the time I would grow up to be a criminal,” said Kevin, who graduated from the Ontario Police College in August of this year. “But thanks to some good influences in my life, I didn’t go down that path.”
