Officer in the right place at the right time saves man’s life

Cst. Chris Powers, a 3-year veteran of the Ottawa Police Service, was stopped in a line of traffic at the intersection of Montreal Road and the Aviation Parkway on October 25th at about 2:40 p.m. when another motorist flagged him about a male possibly asleep in his vehicle in a live lane of traffic.
The officer pulled over to check on the man, who was a few cars behind him. He found him slumped over in the driver’s seat. He was unresponsive and when Cst. Powers checked for a pulse, he didn’t...

It’s National Teen Driver Safety Week October 20 – 26 and a lot of new drivers fall into this age group.
“There’s a lot of ‘firsts’ about driving that can be hard, whether it’s your first time on the road or you’re experiencing your first snow storm, collision or traffic stop,” said Ottawa Police Service Traffic Officer, Jon Hall. “But you can prepare before it happens so you know what to do.”

Male involved in suspicious incident involving a child has been identified

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section (SACA) is confirming that the male involved in a suspicious incident involving a 12 year old girl last May, has been identified.
The SACA investigation continues. No further information will be released at this time.
