Two OPS officers helped a man in an unusual way.
They were patrolling in the west end of the city around 7 am on May 27 when they were dispatched to a business on Strandherd Road. A concerned citizen reported a man wandering aimlessly in the parking lot with no shoes, socks or shirt.
“He wasn’t happy to see us,” said one of the officers, who joined the OPS two years ago. “He was uncooperative and when we offered to take him to a shelter, he refused with a few expletives.”

The Ottawa Police Service hosted 59th annual the International Police Hockey tournament on February 27 and 28, with 109 teams are registered in eight divisions.

(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service continues to investigate the death of a 24-year-old man found deceased in a Mayview Ave. home.
The death was initially investigated as a homicide but police now believe the incident is attributed to death by misadventure. The investigation indicates that the manner of death was likely accidentally self-inflicted.
No suspect is being sought.
The investigation remains open and active.
