Young man charged following a shooting incident on Catherine Street in late March

(Ottawa)—On March 26th 2020, police responded a call for service about a shooting incident in the 400 block of Catherine Street and found that a residence was shot at. No one was injured.
Suspects have been identified during the ensuing Ottawa Police investigation and on May 7th the Guns & Gangs Unit, with assistance from the PIVOT Unit, arrested a male.

First degree murder charge laid in Gilmour Street Homicide

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Homicide Unit arrested a 15-year-old male yesterday in relation to the shooting death of Manyok Akol on January 8th.
The 15-year-old was held for a Show Cause Hearing this morning and formally charged with 1 count of First Degree Murder and 3 counts of Attempted Murder this morning. Per the YCJA, he will not be identified as he is a minor.
