(Ottawa) – The following are suggestions Ottawa business owners can take to increase security to their properties that are temporarily closed: 

• Remove all valuables from store front displays. This will help mitigate smash and grab scenarios such as jewelry and electronic stores. 
• Remove all valuables such as cash from the till and leave open. Place the cash tray in plain view on the counter to signal there’s no money in the till.

Fatal fire investigation on Torcastle Way

Update: Stolen truck and trailer result in arrest

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, March 17, 2020  1:00pm

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service has charged a man in relation to the theft of a vehicle that led police in a short pursuit on Monday evening. 

On March 16 at approximately 10:26pm, police received a call for a motor vehicle and attached trailer that had just been stolen in the West end of the City. Frontline officers located the stolen vehicle and trailer driving erratically on Carling Avenue at Dow’s Lake Road and engaged in a pursuit.
