Suspect identified and charged in hate motivated assault downtown

(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service Hate and Bias Crime Unit is advising that the suspect has been identified.
A 58-year-old man, of Ottawa, has been arrested and charged with assault and mischief. He is scheduled to appear in court today.

(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service District Special Constable (DSC) is pleased to announce the District Special Constable Pilot Project.
The Pilot Project deploys Special Constables to assist Frontline patrol operations. The pilot program is intended to support and supplement frontline police officers by sending Special Constables to various non-emergency call types.

Suspect to identify in Bank St. robbery

(Ottawa) —The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a commercial robbery in the 400 block of Bank Street on February 18th.
At approximately 2:50 pm, the lone suspect attended a commercial business, selected items and attempted to leave the store. When the suspect was confronted by a staff member, he assaulted them and fled the store on foot.
