Shooting investigation at Karsh and Southland; police seeking witnesses

(Ottawa) — Saturday, Frontline Patrol officers responded to a call for service about possible shots heard sometime between 5:00-6:00am in the area of Karsh Drive and Southland Crescent.
Officers found evidence that a vehicle had been damaged by bullets. No one was injured.
The Guns and Gangs Unit is leading the investigation and seeking witnesses.

(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred this evening.
At approximately 7:24pm, Frontline patrol officers responded to a call regarding a shooting in the area of the boat launch at Hog’s Back. Vehicles were seen leaving the area. There are no known injuries at this time.
Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have information about this incident.

An Ottawa Police Service officer, looking for new ways to connect with local youth in the face of Covid restrictions, spearheaded the resurgence of a literary program called, Grow a Writer. Now 30 kids can say they are published authors!

Woman who lost $9000 in scam gets money back

Police officers in Ottawa and Montreal recovered $9000 for a woman after she fell for a convincing scam involving the arrest of her son.
The Ottawa resident was called by someone claiming to be her son on March 26. He was crying and difficult to hear, but he was cut off, and a man posing as an RCMP officer came on the line. Woman wanted following 2020 conviction for Kidnapping and Sexual assault offences

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit and the OPP East Region Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) are seeking the public’s assistance to locate Sandrine TOMBA-KALEMA who fled Ottawa after being convicted of Sexual Assault, Kidnapping, Forcible Confinement and Breaking and Entering in late 2019.
The charges relate to an incident in 2015 for which three other women were also convicted.
