Unsolved Homicides Task Force Launched

Most people think this job would be like what you see on TV, but it isn’t. I take a lot of calls for collisions, assaults, disputes and missing people and I must be ready. The training is extensive. I was nervous when I started taking calls myself. You can study, but until you do it, you have no idea how you will react. Not everyone can do this job, you need a certain personality. Empathy and caring are a must, but you’re there to help in a tough situation, so you must be calm and professional....

A beloved family pet has been returned, thanks to the help of a home security camera and the Ottawa Police Service (OPS).
On February 9, 2021, a family living on a quiet street in the Prince of Wales Drive and Hunt Club Road area, had their Tabby Cat stolen from their front porch.
A man was seen on the home security camera taking the family pet and leaving in a Nissan Versa. The family reached out on many social media platforms in attempts to recover their stolen cat. Local newspapers took hold...

Man wanted in Fraud over $5 000 investigation

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Fraud Unit is looking for public assistance to locate a wanted man who defrauded two local banks for an amount over $690 000.
In January 2020, the man who owned a car service garage at the time, allegedly used his business bank accounts and credit lines for fraudulent purposes before officially closing his business. It is alleged that part of his scheme involved the deposit of high valued business cheques.
St. Laurent Blvd. shooting investigation: seeking witnesses

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit is investigating a targeted shooting.
At approximately 5:50pm on April 3rd, Frontline patrol officers responded to a call about a shooting in the west covered parking lot of 1200 St. Laurent Blvd. No one was injured.
