Thomas, like everyone, has been coping with the restrictions around Covid19.
“He usually goes to a special-needs day program in Westboro and he’s used to seeing all the people in our neighbourhood,” said his mother Perri, “so it’s been hard that the social interactions that mean so much to him have been taken away.”

Update: Drowning at the Prince of Wales Bridge, body recovered

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service is advising that a body was recovered near Lemieux Island, yesterday afternoon.
This afternoon, the coroner’s office has confirmed that it is the body of the 14 year old male who drowned on July 3rd.
The police investigation continues.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the youth.

(Ottawa)–The West Criminal Investigations Unit is requesting the public’s assistance to identify two male suspects in relation to an Assault with a weapon/pointing a firearm in the Kanata area on Canada Day.

(Ottawa) – Ottawa Police Service frontline officers along with the Marine, Dive and Trails Unit responded to a marine incident/possible drowning at Britannia Beach at approximately 8:04pm yesterday evening.
A group of people were swimming in the Ottawa River. A 20 year old male member of this group was observed going under the water and he did not resurface.

Public assistance sought to identify bike theft suspect

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Break and Enter Unit is requesting the public’s assistance to identify a male suspect in relation to a series of bike theft reported in the Downtown core and Vanier area in June.
