(Ottawa) — Members of the Ottawa Police Service Traffic Escort & Enforcement Unit and frontline patrol officers were out on Thursday, September 19th, as part of the Residents Matter (#ResidentsMatter) late-night traffic enforcement initiative.

Arson Unit seeking witnesses to fire in Little Italy

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Arson Unit is investigating an arson that occurred in a commercial building in the 500 block of St. Anthony Street early this morning.
At approximately 2:00 am, officers attended a fire in the 500 block of St. Anthony Street, this was a tiered response with Ottawa Fire Services.
There are no reported injuries at this time.

Homicide Investigation on Heron Road: victim identified and police seeking video

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit has identified the victim as 34-year-old Ahmed Salim-Al-Badri, of Ottawa.
Investigators are seeking surveillance video from residents and persons who may have been in the area at the time of the incident.

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Arson Unit is investigating an arson that occurred in a commercial building in the 400 block of Hazeldean Road early this morning.
At approximately 3:45 am, officers attended a commercial fire in the 400 block of Hazeldean Road, this was a tiered response with Ottawa Fire Services.
The incident has displaced many businesses, and the damage caused by the fire is estimated in the millions of dollars.
Suspect to identify following an assault on Dalhousie Street

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Central Criminal Investigation Section is seeking public assistance to identify a suspect responsible for an assault on September 7th on Dalhousie Street near St. Patrick Street.
At approximately 5:30 pm, two female victims were walking down the street when the suspect intentionally bumped into them. The suspect then began assaulting the females, eventually knocking one of them to the ground.
