Community Police Centres
Our Community Police Centres are not staffed on a full-time basis. Please call in advance to ensure that someone is available to assist you.
Ottawa Victim Services
Ottawa Victim Services (OVS) provides emotional support, practical assistance, referrals and advocacy to people who have been victimized due to a crime or tragic circumstance without judgment to lessen the impact of victimization. OVS is a community-based agency committed to treating individuals with courtesy, compassion and respect for their dignity, privacy and diversity. OVS can be reached at 613-238-2762.
Claim lost, found or stolen property
The Evidence Control Unit at 2799 Swansea Crescent is CLOSED for all walk-in services.
If you are reporting a missing, lost or stolen item, please first file a report using our online system. If you require assistance, you can call us at 613-236-1222, extension 7300.
Appointments can be scheduled on an as-needed basis between 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday-Friday.
To check about a missing bicycle or other stolen or lost articles, please email us at property@ottawapolice.ca or call 613-236-1222 ext. 5488.
Please us in advance to coordinate the release of property found, abandoned or taken as evidence.
Towed Vehicles
If you suspect your motor vehicle has been towed due to parking enforcement/snow removal, please call Ottawa By-Law services by dialing 311 if calling from Ottawa or the following numbers if calling from outside the city 613-580-2400 / 1-866-261-9799.
If you suspect your motor vehicle has been towed from a private property not controlled by By-law services, please call their property management office.
If you require information concerning a motor vehicle that has been towed/impounded by the Ottawa Police Service, please visit our Impounded Vehicles Section web page.
