Why register?

It's completely voluntary to register your alarm, but we really encourage residents and businesses to do so. It makes it quicker to dispatch information and gives the name and number of the monitoring company and names of people who can be ed if necessary.

False alarms

False alarms make up 99% of all alarm calls. Each alarm call requires two officers and approximately 30 minutes.

The False Alarm Reduction Bylaw states that when police are required to go to an address of a false alarm, a fee (plus applicable taxes) must be charged.
