Arson Unit seeking public assistance with three separate fire investigations
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, August 5, 2021 9:00am
(Ottawa) — The Arson Unit is seeking the public’s help with ongoing investigations into three separate fires that occurred this week across the city.
At approximately 2:30am on August 1st, Frontline patrol officers responded to a vehicle fire in the 700 block of Dynes Road. Three vehicles had been set on fire and were severely damaged.
At approximately 4:15am on August 3rd, Frontline officers responded to a residential fire in the 200 block of Jeanne Mance Street. The fire caused minor property damage to the property.
At approximately 9:20am on August 3rd, Frontline officers responded to a residential fire in the 2800 block of Baycrest Drive. The fire caused significant damage to the basement of the property.
The fires were all extinguished and there have been no reported injuries.
All three fires have been deemed to be arsons and are being investigated by the Ottawa Police Service Arson Unit.
Investigators are asking residents in these areas who may have video surveillance, dashcam or doorbell camera footage, or anyone with information to contact the Ottawa Police Arson Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 4587.
