Assault/Stabbing Investigation on Rideau Street

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service is investigating an assault/stabbing that occurred Wednesday evening.

On October 5, 2022 at approximately 6:38 PM, the victim was walking in the 1-100 block of Rideau Street when he was bumped into by an unknown individual. This person pulled a knife out and slashed the victim’s hand.

Frontline officers arrested the suspect nearby a short time later. He is currently in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
