Baseline Road collision - police continue to look for the driver and witnesses

(Ottawa) – The Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) is still looking to identify and speak with the driver involved in a collision with a teenage pedestrian on June 11, 2021 at approximately 11:25pm on Baseline Road near Navaho Drive.

Investigators believe that the vehicle may be a black subcompact vehicle and would have sustained damage on the front passenger side.

Police also want to speak with the drivers/passengers of three vehicles that were stopped East bound on Baseline Road at the intersection of Navaho Drive at the time of the collision, as they may have witnessed the collision (see photo).

The 16 year old teenager remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Collision on Baseline - police looking to identify drivers

(Ottawa) – Investigators of the Ottawa Police Collision Investigation Unit are looking to speak with any witnesses, especially the drivers and possible passengers of three vehicles at the intersection prior to the collision. 

The three vehicles were stopped East bound on Baseline Road at the intersection of Navaho Drive on June 11, 2021 at approximately 11:25pm. 

At this time, collision investigators have determined that the driver who struck the pedestrian was not at fault; and the driver may not be aware of the collision with a pedestrian. We urge the driver to come forward and speak with police. 

The victim is still in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Looking for witnesses/information – Collision Baseline Road

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service is asking for public assistance to locate a motor vehicle involved in a collision on June 11, 2021. The collision took place on Baseline Road near Navaho Drive at approximately 11:25 pm. A teenage pedestrian was struck causing significant injuries. The motor vehicle involved in the collision was travelling westbound on Baseline Road. A dark-coloured vehicle was observed striking the pedestrian and failing to stop. The vehicle was last seen continuing westbound on Baseline Road.

We are requesting information from any witnesses or any additional evidence, such as dashcam video or information related to the subject vehicle.
