Bolo Program Top 25 Fall Update: Gibriil BAKAL featured as no 8 on Canada’s most wanted list

(Ottawa) – The Bolo Program announced that Gibriil BAKAL, 30 years old, of Edmonton, who is wanted for First-degree murder, is eighth on Canada’s most wanted fugitive list issued today.

BAKAL is wanted for the murder of Jama Roble on Champagne Avenue South in Ottawa on January 29, 2024.

BAKAL remains at large. He is described as a black male, 6’1” (185 cm) and 190 lbs (86 kg), see photo.

Anyone with information on the location of BAKAL is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.

The Bolo Program was launched in May 2018 by the Stéphan Crétier Foundation as a way to amplify priority wanted notices issued by Canadian police services.
