Call for Applications – New Use of Force Review Panel

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Community Equity Council (CEC) is looking for community members to join the new Use of Force Review Panel. Applications are due by Monday, June 10, 2024.

The Use of Force Review Panel will review Use of Force case files and make specific recommendations on service delivery improvements to address systemic issues (for the police service and possibly other service providers).

The Panel will also have a role, with the Community Equity Council, in the annual Use of Force data analysis, recommendations, reporting, and action planning. The Panel has its own Terms of Reference and members of the panel will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement and do a background check after being interviewed.  People selected for the panel will be compensated for their work with the Panel.
