Calling all local charities: Apply to be the beneficiary of the 12th annual OPS Gala
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, March 1, 2023 10 a.m.
(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for its 12th annual Gala to be held November 4 at the Shaw Centre.
To qualify, your organization must be:
- A registered charity; and
- Provide services to Ottawa residents.
“Every year, local charities are selected as beneficiaries of the Gala fundraising. The charities are picked because of shared values with the OPS, a willingness to pitch in and help, as well as having an established network within the community to help with the fundraising efforts,” said OPS Gala Co-Chair Inspector Jim Elves.
We invite those who qualify to fill out the application form at ottawapolice.ca/Gala before 4 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023, and let us know about the important work you are doing in the city.
The Gala provides the OPS with a chance to strengthen ties within the community by sponsoring charities that are focused on improving the well-being of Ottawa’s communities.
“Any registered charity that has created programs to help residents in Ottawa is invited to apply,” said Insp. Elves. “We know that the work you do is helping to make a real difference in the lives of the people in this city and we want to support you.”
Since its inception, the Gala has raised $1 Million dollars for charities like: Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Ottawa; the Boys and Girls Club Ottawa, Ottawa Food Bank, Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region, Youville Centre, and other worthy organizations.
