Charges laid in Presland Road Arson

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Arson Unit has charged a woman following a fire in the 200 block of Presland Road this week.

On Tuesday, February 21, at approximately 5:30 pm, officers were called to the area in response to a fire in an apartment building.

The fire caused significant damage and left several residents without shelter.

Pamela SHILLINGFORD, 31 years old, of Ottawa, has been charged with Arson to Property, Arson Endanger Life and Attempted Murder. She appeared in court this afternoon.

The Office of the Fire Marshal will be assisting the Ottawa Police Arson Unit with the examination of the fire scene over the next few days.
