Chris, Police Communicator supervisor
We are highly trained to deal with some bad situations so we can achieve the best outcome. When someone calls 911, it’s probably because they are having one of the worst experiences they have had. I must be the calm and reassuring voice on the phone, no matter what is happening. Sometimes the ten minutes I’m on the phone waiting for officers to arrive feels so long, but it’s what I do in those minutes to help the caller and officers that counts. Not every call is going to end the way I want. Some days are better than others, but overall, I feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of every day. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
We’re recruiting!
