Downtown traffic disruptions expected Thursday afternoon
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, May 11, 2022 4:25 p.m.
(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service would like to advise commuters to expect traffic disruptions tomorrow afternoon, May 12th, in the Downtown core as a pedestrian-based demonstration is expected to take place starting on Parliament Hill early afternoon.
Demonstrators will begin their march at Parliament Hill at approximately 1:30 p.m. and continue throughout the Downtown core until 3 p.m. with a return to Parliament Hill. As such, Ottawa Police officers will be effecting rolling road closures and ensuring public safety starting at 1 p.m.
Commuters may consider using alternate routes for their afternoon drive home.
Reminder: there is a vehicle-exclusion zone in effect on Wellington Street between Bank Street and Elgin Street southbound.
