Early CPR and intervention saves woman's life

Early yesterday morning, 911 Police Communicators received a call that a woman had collapsed and was unresponsive at a local Tim Horton's restaurant.

Cst. Micael Fournier arrived on scene within minutes to assess the woman's condition and her colleagues were already performing chest compressions. Cst. Fournier attached the defibrillator, administered a shock and continued CPR.

Afterward, a second shock was administered just before Paramedic and Fire Services arrived and a third shock was delivered. The woman regained a pulse and started breathing on her own. She was transported to hospital for further care. Police regularly respond to urgent medical calls.
