Gatineau man charged with child luring

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) has arrested and charged a man following a joint investigation with the Calgary Police Service (CPS).
In July 2024, the Ottawa Police received information from CPS regarding a man making attempts to lure an underaged female that lives in Alberta to Ottawa.
Yesterday, with the assistance of multiple OPS sections including, the OPS Airport Unit, the Digital Forensic Section, Cybercrime Unit and Frontline Patrol officers, the man was arrested.
Willem FRASER, 22-years-old, of Gatineau, was charged with the following:
- Luring a person under the age of 16 years of age by mean of telecommunication
He is scheduled to appear in court today.
The investigation is continuing, anyone with information about this incident, is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5660. Tips may also be sent electronically to ICE@ottawapolice.ca.
