Homicide Investigation on Heron Road: victim identified and police seeking video

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit has identified the victim as 34-year-old Ahmed Salim-Al-Badri, of Ottawa.
Investigators are seeking surveillance video from residents and persons who may have been in the area at the time of the incident.

Homicide Investigation: Heron Road
(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting death of a man in the 1600 block of Heron Road last evening.
Patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting just after 7:30 pm Thursday night.
Upon arrival, officers found a man in his 30’s inside a vehicle with injuries. Officers administered CPR and the man was subsequently transported to the hospital by paramedics where he succumbed to his injuries.
A large scene was secured and multiple witnesses were interviewed.
The investigation continues and police are asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222 extension 5493.
