Investigators seeking witnesses to pedestrian collision on Merivale Road
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, November 3, 2022 12:25 pm
(Ottawa) —The Ottawa Police Service Collision Unit Investigators are seeking witnesses to a fatal pedestrian-vehicle collision that occurred the evening of November 2, 2022 near the intersection of Merivale Rd and Thames St.
The incident occurred at about 6:44 pm, when a man crossing Merivale Road was struck by a Toyota Corolla. The impact sent the pedestrian into the path of a second vehicle, a Honda Civic. The 70-year-old man was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He has since passed away from his injuries.
Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage of this incident and have not yet spoken to police.
