Loaded handgun, Fentanyl, Cocaine seized in Drug Warrant Execution

(Ottawa)— In June, the Ottawa Police Service Drug Unit began an investigation into individuals involved in the trafficking of drugs throughout the City of Ottawa.
As a result of the investigation, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant was executed in the Fallingbrook area of Orleans yesterday.
Cocaine, fentanyl, a functional taser, a loaded Glock 9mm handgun with a full-auto sear switch along with several rounds of ammunition were seized as well as a large sum of Canadian Currency.
A man and woman both of Ottawa, were jointly charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking x4
- Possession of a prohibited device
- Careless storage of a firearm
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
- Possession of a restricted Firearm
- Possession of a restricted firearm obtained by crime
- Possession of a loaded regulated firearm
- Possession of proceeds of property or thing obtained by crime exceeding $5000
They are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
