Man charged following a residential Break and Enter on Wellington Street West

(Ottawa) – On October 21, 2021, the Ottawa Police Break and Enter Unit has charged a man in relation to a Break and Enter that occurred in the 900 block of Wellington Street West. 

At approximately 3:40 am, Frontline patrol officers responded to a Break and Enter in progress. The homeowners called 911 after observing a man inside their residence. Police were able to arrest the man after a brief struggle. The suspect and an officer suffered minor injuries.

The Break and Enter Unit has charged Christopher Andrew GREENWOOD, 39 years old, of Ottawa with the following Criminal Code offences:

• Breaking and Enter and commit an indictable offence
• Assault with intent to resist or prevent arrest
• Assault
• Breach of probation

He is scheduled to appear in court today.
