FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, May 24, 2024 10:32 am
(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service has charged a 68-year-old Ottawa man with animal cruelty charges.
At approximately 9:20 a.m. on May 22nd, officers responded to an animal cruelty call in the 400 block of Hazeldean Road.
It appeared that Canadian Geese had laid eggs in this area, and on May 21st, a suspect stomped on one of the hatched goslings (baby goose).
The man has been charged with causing unnecessary pain and suffering to an animal. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Safe Wings Ottawa has safely relocated both parents and the two surviving goslings due to concerns about their safety at their original location.
