Man charged in hate-motivated incident

(Ottawa) —The Ottawa Police Service Hate and Bias Crime Unit charged a man in relation to an assault at a commercial business on September 3, 2022.

A man entered a business in the 900 block of Wellington St and while there, created a disturbance that resulted in him being told to leave. The suspect then uttered racial slurs at one of the employees, threatened them, and spat at them before fleeing.

Ryan Grant FLUET, age 27, is charged with Hate Motivated Assault, Uttering Threats to Commit Bodily Harm and Causing a Disturbance by Swearing. He will appear in court on November 25^th.
