Man charged with attempted murder following incident in Orleans

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service has charged a man following an incident on November 15th in the 1100 block of Place D’Orleans Drive.
At approximately 11:15 pm, police received calls about an individual with a weapon who was assaulting people and damaging vehicles in the area of St. Joseph Boulevard and Place D’Orleans Drive.
Police confronted the individual resulting in an officer discharging their firearm multiple times. The investigation into the specifics of this incident is being led by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
Five civilians were injured, some with serious injuries, later deemed non-life-threatening injuries.
The accused was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, currently in stable condition.
Following a criminal investigation by the East Criminal Investigations Section, Tyler LOW, 33, of Ottawa, has been charged with multiple offences, including:
- Attempted murder x 4
- Aggravated assault x 5
- Assault with weapon x 12
- Assault peace officer x 1
- Carry a concealed weapon x 2
- Mischief damage property x 7
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public x 20
- Obstruct Police x 1
