Man charged with sexual assault, police seeking further victims

(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Unit has charged a man following an investigation into sexual assaults that occurred at businesses he owned.
In the summer of 2024, a woman applied for a job at the accused place of business, he insisted they conduct the interview in his vehicle. Once inside the vehicle, he drove her to a secluded location, prevented her from leaving and sexually assaulted her.
Today, Canpolat SAHIN, 37-years-old of Ottawa, was charged with:
- Sexual assault x2
- Forcible confinement
He is scheduled to appear in court today.
As SAHIN owns multiple businesses, Polat Construction and Azra Turkish Restaurant, investigators believe there could be other victims.
