Manslaughter charge after 2020 death of five-year-old girl
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Sunday, June 13, 2021 4:00 p.m.
(Ottawa) - Two people have been charged by the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit after a year-long investigation into the death of a five-year-old girl.
Chloe Guan-Branch, 5, was found injured at her home in the 1300 block of Meadowlands Dr. on May 15th, 2020.
The little girl was taken to hospital by paramedics where she passed away.
Following a year of investigation, which involved significant forensic analysis, police have arrested and charged a man and a woman.
Justin CASSIE-BERUBE, 27, has been charged with manslaughter, criminal negligence causing death and failing to provide the necessaries of life.
Ada GUAN, 29, has been charged with criminal negligence causing death, and failing to provide the necessaries of life.
The charges were laid Saturday.
