Officer scales roof to aid unconscious woman

On Saturday, Sgt. Jason Riopel was working patrol in downtown Ottawa when he was alerted to an unconscious woman on a rooftop. The call came in from a concerned citizen who saw her from his balcony. He believed that she was deceased and called to have her checked on. 

Sgt. Riopel scaled the building to gain access to the roof and jumped from one roof to another to check on the condition of the woman. She had passed out overnight and appeared unconscious.

He and Ottawa Fire Services ensured her safety in regaining consciousness and assisting her down from the roof.
