Officers arrest robbery suspect; firearm recovered

Ottawa – The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has charged a man following a commercial robbery on June 15 in the 500 block of Montreal Road.
At approximately 2:00pm, a lone suspect entered the store and stole several items. When approached by a staff member, he pulled out a firearm.
The suspect left the store on foot. No one was injured.
Neighbourhood Resource Team (NRT) officers were in the area and quickly located the suspect and arrested him. Patrol officers canvassed the area and located the replica firearm that had been thrown away as the suspect fled.
Jonathan BRETHOUR, 36, of Ottawa is charged with:
- Robbery with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
- Have face masked/disguised
He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
