Ongoing Homicide investigation on Metcalfe and Albert Street, seeking witnesses

(Ottawa) – The Homicide Unit has identified all persons involved in a dispute that resulted in the stabbing death of Eric Hewer in the evening of July 26^th. 

No charges have been laid at this time. 

The investigation continues and anyone with information about an altercation between three e-scooter riders and a black Volkswagen that evening, at approximately 8:40pm on Metcalfe Street, is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.

Homicide investigation on Metcalfe and Albert Street – Victim identified

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Homicide Unit is investigating the death of one man and serious injuries to another that occurred on Metcalfe and Albert Streets yesterday evening.

Police were called to the area for a stabbing incident around 8:39pm Monday evening and located two stabbing victims. 

Both victims were transported to hospital where 19 year old Eric Hewer, of Nova Scotia, succumbed to his injuries. The second victim suffered non life-threatening injuries. 

The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.
